Hisella Orellana

OPCW Director

Hello everyone! My name is Hisella Orellana, and I recently just graduated from UNCC in Summer 2026 with a double major in Criminal Justice and Political Science with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. I have spent my summer traveling to Morocco for a study abroad program with the university and the Netherlands for a summer school opportunity with the Non-Governmental Organization 'Release Peace', learning about the political economy and international advocacy, respectively. I enjoy learning about and researching topics that affect both local and international politics and livelihoods, especially race in the United States and issues in Latin America and the Middle East. I previously presented research on the removal of D.E.I. at UNCC at the Women and Gender Studies South Conference in Atlanta, GA, in 2025.

I have been doing Model UN for about a year now, and I started my MUN career here at Carolina's Conference. Since then, I have attended more conferences and have gone to Lima, Peru, to attend the Harvard WORLDMUN. I enjoy learning more about different political worldviews on specific topics and truly representing my position. I hope to see everyone represent and defend their position to the best of their abilities, and hope to see everyone kill them with kindness!
